What is Box Customization?
Each month, you'll have a variety of customization options to choose from! With Box Customization, you can do one of the following:
- Pick your products — what you receive is up to you! You’re able to pick 2-5 items – from samples, travel-size, to even full-sized items!
- Products will be recommended to you based on your preferences filled out in your beauty profile etc. Remember that Birchbox is a Discovery Service, so some items might be new to you.
What happens if I don't customize my box and miss my customization window?
No worries! We love surprises too! We will still have our best, personalized, curated products sent straight to your door. There's a lot of work (and science!) that goes into getting the right products to the right person, and we've got you covered every step of the way!
When you've reached the last day of your 7-day customization window, we'll ship your surprise, personalized (and awesome!) box!
When can I customize my box?
You have 7 days to customize your box, beginning with your billing date, plus 6 additional calendar days. Once you confirm customized box orders, ETA for delivery is +5-10 business days (same as always...).
Pro tip: The sooner, the better to avoid items being sold out.
How do I customize my box?
While logged into your account Home. This will take you to a pink Birchbox Customization box.
To make your Box Customization selection, follow these steps:
- Click Update Profile, take the Beauty Quiz, and then you'll be able to make your selections. Once your customization window is open, you'll be able to ship your box as is or customize it.
- Click on "Remove" to swap out an item that we have preselected for you. After you remove an item you can browse your recommendations by clicking "Add."
Note: Your box has five customization slots available, some items will fill multiple slots. This is dependant on the size and value of the product. For example, a full-sized item may take up four slots, while a sample will fill one.
Does Customization cost extra?
The ability to customize your box comes at no additional cost. Whether you build your full box or you let us curate one for you, your price will remain the same.
Can I edit my selection?
Once you have confirmed your selection, your box begins processing right away. This means we are unable to make any changes.
Can I still Swap for Points?
We have discontinued the swap your box for points option, with the new subscription experience. As a Discovery Service, our goal is to introduce you to exciting, new products. Points will still be earned on full-sized purchases in our Shop!
