Who is the at-home skin lab meant for?
The at home skin lab is for anyone who:
wants to get healthier, vibrant skin right from home
wants to learn about their skin health through a guided, educational experience
- wants help finding clean, science-backed skincare products that will work well for their skin without investing tons of time, energy, and money
What happens after I receive my first shipment?
With your first shipment, in addition to a set of skincare products, you'll receive a skin type test and special code used to redeem your second box. After you take your skin type test and report your results (instructions will be in your box!), you can use your special, one-time code to redeem a second box, curated with products based on the results of your skin test. You'll do the same to redeem your third and final box.
How do the skin tests work?
The skin test kits include testing strips that you press into different areas of your skin (face, wrists, body, etc) to measure the amount of oil in your skin, check how hydrated your skin is, or check the depth of lines and creases in the skin. You’ll compare your testing strip against a provided legend to understand and report your results.
What type of educational content and guidance will I receive?
With each shipment, you'll receive a curated set of content and tips via email to help you:
- Learn about the foundations of skin health
- Understand how to evaluate the right products for you
- Schedule a consultation with our skincare specialists if you have additional questions
What do the skin consultations entail?
You can schedule a 15 minute video session with one of our Basic Skin Care Specialists, trained by a licensed esthetician. You'll be able to book these consultations through a consultation sign-up link sent with each of your 3 shipments.
How are my products personalized?
After you take your skin type test, you'll let us know the results and we'll provide you with your recommended next set of products to best care for your skin.
Is my purchase refundable?
We want to ensure you're 100% satisfied with your experience. If you're not, you can return your box as specified in our free, 90 day return policy.
What happens if I lose my code used to redeem my second or third shipments?
If you lose your one-time code, reach out to our customer support team at email@example.com or 877-487-7272 and we'll get you a new code!
Does Birchbox collect any of my skin health data?
You'll let us know the results of your skin tests so that we can help curate products that will work best for you, but we won't be storing any of your skin health data after sending you your products.
